Within Please Share, short URLs (e.g., pls.sh) are used for tracking and reporting purposes.

When a share request is created in the Please Share web application and sent to Slack, Please Share automatically shortens the content URLs associated with the particular update. The process of shortening URLs is similar to services like Bitly.

The short URLs enable Please Share to track when someone clicks on an update shared by one of your team members (on Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn).

Companies can associate a dollar value to each click to determine the ROI associated with their employee advocacy initiatives.
